Meet the Team
Meet our Camp Lookout leadership and staff and learn more about their passion for experiential learning, the great outdoors, and more!
Founder & CEO
Curtis has a passion and excitement for camping and a feeling of responsibility towards the traditions of Crystalaire, Carvela and Lookout. After graduating from Michigan Technological University in 2002, he has worked at several camps, in various positions and began his tenure with Lookout, Crystalaire and Carvela in 2010.
Prior to his involvement with Camp, he was an engineer designing safety equipment for various industries. However, camping was never far from his heart.
Curtis has a passion for creating a fun and dynamic culture focusing on equity, inclusion and community.
By empowering campers and staff he hopes to provide an atmosphere where children can enjoy the outdoors while experiencing a supportive and engaging community.
Brooke McFall, Curtis’s wife, is on the faculty of the University of Michigan as an assistant research scientist with the Institute for Social Research. Brooke and Curtis have been married since 2010 and have three kiddos. During the summer Brooke spends much of her time at camp working remotely for the University of Michigan.
Morgan is from Somerset, England, and started working at camp in 2013. Starting out as the Sailing Instructor then moving onto Waterfront Director and then Program Director.
You will find Morgan on/in the water, starting everyday with a jump in the lake. His passion lies with creating an environment where he can push campers and staff ideas of what is possible at camp. Within this collaborative space they can work & play together to make truly unique activities.
He also loves riding bikes, playing golf, eating food, shoes and being outdoors.
Macayla (Mac) is from Queensland, Australia and started working at camp in 2012. Since then, she has worked many roles at camp, from counsellor to Art Director to her current Director role. She became a director in 2018, and helped open Camp Carvela. Whichever camp Mac is at, she is invested in building a supportive and genuine community.
You can usually find Mac covered in glitter, rainbows or flower crowns, and she is always finding ways to make those around her happy and probably a little bit sparkly. Mac has a
passion for people, and loves managing a staff of youth-inspirers and magic-creators.
Lauren joined the camp team in early 2021 with a background in administrative healthcare. She loves connecting with new parents and campers and helping families decide what experience best suits their camper's interests and needs. Lauren was drawn to camp due to the inclusive environment and non competitive atmosphere that allows everyone to express and exist as themselves in an authentic, genuine and safe way.
She grew up in Northern Michigan, very close to our programs and has had a strong appreciation for nature and the rewards that come with exploring and trying out new things.
When she visited camp for the first time, she could finally understand the magic that the team and past families have been able to share with her.
Lauren has experienced such a fulfilling and warm introduction to the camp world, and she is so excited to continue learning and growing.
